Task:
Train 600 employees, who had not worked in grocery retail, for store operations in 3 days. Conduct training for over 6,000 existing employees on working in new conditions (sanitary safety techniques).
Magnit’s leadership acted proactively and, based on the Magnit Corporate Academy, organized training for employees from partner industries.
During the pandemic, supermarkets became not only places for shopping but also for leisure. Requirements increased: staff monitoring, shift quarantine if one employee fell ill, and sanitary processing. Opening a store in a day was possible, but finding and training workers was a complex task.
Training was conducted for three groups:
existing Magnit employees;
employees from donor companies (Burger King, KFC, Sportmaster, Zenden, Rive Gauche);
volunteers (existing employees delivering groceries to people aged 65+).
Magnit today is 20,860 retail outlets and 1,265 pharmacies, employing a total of 310,500 employees (as of March 31, 2020).
We are grateful to Irina Fedkina, Head of Training and Development at Magnit Corporate Academy, for providing the data and will strive to meet the high praise!
